Artist
Amy Cameron is a contemporary artist born in 1989 in the Highlands of Scotland, recently graduating with a B.A. (Hons) degree in painting from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen.
Her current work looks at themes of memory, personal history, trace and identity. Using images from old family photographs, extracts from her diaries and various memorabilia collected during her life, she attempts to recreate and re-imagine various significant memories. For Amy, memories have always been associated with particular strong colours and she uses this association to dictate her colour choice for each piece. Working in layers, she creates fragmented and growing pieces, with details showing through and disappearing again, like the layers of a memory.
