Artist
Rachael is an artist based in South Yorkshire, specialising in drawing and painting.
In 2009 Rachael completed a BA (Hons) degree in fine art drawing and painting at the University of Huddersfield, after which she returned to her home town of Rotherham.
Rachael has a strong interest in the individual, and she aims to capture a sense of identity by drawing from photos that show real moments or by drawing from life. Rachael avoids heavily posed scenes as she wants to make her drawings an honest depiction of the subject, whilst also creating a mood and alluding to a narrative.
Since leaving university Rachael has participated in exhibitions and curated a show called Minutiae at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield where she also worked as a gallery assistant. Rachael is now committed to developing her own artistic practice, and also taking commissions.
