Bridget Lycett-Smith

Artist

Bridget studied textiles at Goldsmiths and lives and works in South-East London.

Her work explores form and movement. Taking inspiration from repetition in nature, she combines fabrics with rods wires and strings to create dramatic textile sculptures. The designs are frequently inspired by objects associated with the sea or air such as shells, waves, sails and leaves.

Many of Bridget’s pieces have been site-specific, commissioned for public and private spaces such a schools, libraries and homes. Throughout her artistic career she has also worked widely on education projects in schools, which has included installations for the Deptford X art festival.

Bridget is currently artist in residence at Kelvin Grove Primary School.
